Throughout 11+ years of professional practice in TRANSLATION, PROOFREADING, and EDITING – both ENGLISH and PORTUGUESE – I have had the opportunity to deal with an array of subject matters and different tools.
- Paleo receipts,
- User interfaces (Ennov),
- Smartphone games (Firexit) and apps (Nearones),
- Academic articles on Sociology (two published by the London Journal SSHJ) and Health Sciences,
- Healthcare products (Nidaria),
- Retroflectometers (Easylux),
- Press release (GOM player),
- Powerboats website (FS Yachts), etc.
- Wordfast online,
- Sublime Text 2,
- PoEdit, etc.
I have been providing video subtitles (English, Portuguese), taking care of the speech transcription, translation, and adaptation, and then professionally and patiently synchronizing the subtitles with speech and scene changes using Aegisub32, Subtitles Workshop, etc.
- Powerboats (FS Yachts),
- Hockey gear (313 Sports),
- Self-help (thebe.co),
- Smartphone apps (AngelSense), etc.
Through various online platforms, I have been providing services whose quality is consistently far above average. For example, I got started on 'People per Hour' less than one year ago and already graduated to Cert1, Cert2, Cert3, and Cert4.
I've been writing STRICT (or TRUE) Verbatim Transcripts (which I call "research grade"). Besides, I have worked on proofing and editing transcripts, acting as the quality monitoring function by rating how other transcribers performed.
But I can handle SMOOTH (or CLEAN) Verbatim transcriptions, as well as the CONTENT (or BUSINESS) and ABRIDGED (or INTELLIGENT) styles of transcription.
As a pharmacist, specializing in Industrial Pharmacy, I worked for 25 years in a global company, having held the position of Quality Management Manager from 2002 to 2014. I performed quality audits at manufacturing facilities in South America (Argentina, Chile, and Peru), Europe (Germany and Switzerland), and the United States. From among the many projects that I led, I highlight the one that ended up with the certification by the US-FDA of a manufacturing facility of medical devices for export from Brazil to the United States.
