Indexing Editor and Translator—FamilySearch Indexing Ops December 2012 – April 2013
Responsible for editing project instructions, project home pages, indexing guidelines, and field helps for every project that is created by the Indexing Ops team at FamilySearch. Editing is done in the English, Portuguese, and Spanish languages, often with full translation. Also entrusted with editing any memos, letters, or inter-departmental communications—focusing on content, proofreading, and document design.
Editor-in-Chief—Essais Undergraduate Journal January 2012 – April 2013
Directed and managed an eight to fifteen person staff on carrying out the different steps of publication. Furthermore, created and directed advertisement and communication efforts with both staff and authors of the journal, attempting to popularize the journal’s reputation. Taught editing techniques to experienced and inexperienced editors, while working one-on-one with authors on their writing.
Project Manager—CHSS Magazine January 2012 - June 2012
Carried with writing, editing, design, and leadership responsibilities. Placed over a full staff of writers in order to delegate the intricate process of a collaborative magazine production, often having to prepare oral and verbal presentations. The magazine covered successful student and alumnus stories, requiring much research and interview interaction. The only specifications for the job were, “Get it done, and get it done well.”
