Sobre mí
I am Pedro Arteaga. I am both Venezuelan and  British. I  provide professional translations from English to Spanish, and vice versa. I have a very extensive background  in providing meticulous and reliable translations of technical, scientific and diplomatic documents while working in different settings.  I have been a freelance translator  for government and private clients in Venezuela since 2013.  Until recently, I have worked for an international  organisation in The Hague, where I provided regular support to member states from Latin America and Caribbean and Europe by translating technical documents of various kinds: slide presentations in English and Spanish for member states; I revised and edited in both languages the main guidance (“the Declarations Handbook”) provided for to help State Party members submit mandatory declarations to the organisation. (Please refer to the OPCW website from where this handbook can be viewed). During my post as a diplomat in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I translated or proofread on a regular basis  promotional, commercial, educational, legal, cultural and technical documents.
I obtained  a post-graduate degree in engineering from a UK university in 1979, and ever since both English and Spanish have been very much linked to the many things I have done and achieved: raising a bilingual family in the UK, working there where I published several papers in international scientific journals (in English); acting as a paper reviewer for the Chemical Engineering Science; working in an international settings in the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Spanish and English translations have been part of my everyday working life.
I am confident of my ability in successfully translating any material from English to Spanish (or vice versa), backed by many years of experience in providing highly accurate translating services for a range of stakeholders. I pay unwavering attention to detail and possess multi-tasking skills, the ability to prepare complex reports, good typing speed, the ability to work with latest word processing applications, and proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
I look forward to discussing my qualifications  further and thank you for your consideration.
