Freelance Bookkeeper/Administrator – Part Time

Description:
We are looking for a Part Time 1099 Freelance Bookkeeper/Administrator to start immediately with small commercial painting company.

Candidate must have a home office to work remotely. Will train with current bookkeeper for short period of then work with owner at his home office to get to know the business and other employees/contractors.

Able to work with a company in transition and be able to help initiate new programs, re-establish old ones and accommodate potential requests not listed below.

10-15 hours a week

$25.00 an hour

Must have minimum 5 years bookkeeping/administrative work experience

Some travel required. Able to meet with owner and other employees (in Branchburg/ Hillsborough Area) regularly to get acclimated to job responsibilities. Visits to banks will be necessary from time to time to make deposits (TD Bank and Bank of America).
Retrieving mail is required. Travel will be limited once comfort level with work load established.

- Must have a passion for helping small businesses solve problems and succeed.
- Must have advanced QuickBooks and MSOffice experience.
- Create and maintain various records of financial transactions.

- Review mail, organize bills and generate AP report to work with owner on payments. Follow up with non-bill mailings and ensure all inquiries are acknowledged.
- Generate, compose and issue business correspondence as appropriate/if needed.

- Track and run payroll for office staff if needed.
- Review subcontractor invoices with owner/foremen. Track and run payments.

- Work with primary subcontractor and remote admin to track payroll and run payments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable. Work with remote admin to correspond with customers regarding collections.

- Handle monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts.
- Provide information to external accountant for company financial statements.
- Work with remote admin and external accountant to prepare information for external auditors for annual workers’ comp, liability and health insurance audits.

- Work with remote admin and owner to breakdown pricing and create schedule of values for large projects.
- Work with remote admin on licensing and bond requirements for projects.
- Work with insurance brokers and owner to maintain company worker’s comp, liability and health insurance.

- Be willing to take on tasks not listed by owner and other employees if needed.
