Implement a revamped website design for a digital publication

We are looking to hire a skilled WordPress PHP Developer to implement an attractive and functional website for a US non-profit running a grassroots news website. You will be responsible for back-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and custom plugins as well as site integration and security updates.
The design has already been revamped and we are looking for help to implement the design and features.


Requirements

    Proficiency with modern front-end web technologies and techniques - fluency with html and css, a thorough understanding of frameworks such as react.js/vue.js and RESTful APIs etc.
    Proficiency in Gatsby or similar open-source static site generators.
    Experience with PHP as some pages may have to be server-rendered directly by WordPress.


    Experience working with and implementing design mockups.
    Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting performance and security issues.
    Available to start immediately and work at least a few hours overlapping with the Central/Eastern time zone of the US.


    Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
