Position Title: Server Infrastructure Engineer

summary of position:
individual will work as part of the cb infrastructure team primarily responsible for managing all server infrastructure supporting global convertible bonds trading business. Individual will report to the CB Infrastructure lead / Manager. Individual will be required to work with infrastructure teams at other global offices to provide support and design ideas to maintain a stable and robust global infrastructure with high level of availability.
Individual will be actively working on improving the monitoring and support systems of the server infrastructure environment working in conjunction with infrastructure and other technology teams. Individual will need to have good knowledge of various administrative programming languages such as Python, Perl, C and Java mostly for the purpose of infrastructure management, automation and system monitoring.

job responsibilities:
supporting cb infrastructure environment including backups, nagios monitoring and server hardware infrastructure.

Collaborating with Global Insight Infrastructure team on design plans and efforts on a regular basis.

Supporting Insight DBAs with recommendation and support solutions on an as needed basis.

Informing IT management of any potential issues or risks associated with the Insight or global infrastructure on a regular basis.

Analyzing CB developer infrastructure requests and formulating viable solutions to satisfy requests within budgetary requirements.

Provide second level escalation support for Insight and global infrastructure related issues that are not handled or resolved by local support areas.

Providing support and assistance as needed to core infrastructure team with regards to support coverage and technical knowledge sharing

Maintaining support and design documentation in accordance with firm and global infrastructure policies.

Tracking trouble tickets information and inputting it into JIRA or Service Desk Express product including appropriate resolution information.

Participate in the firm's business continuity tests and BCP planning for Insight infrastructure.
