**Art Director / Brand Visual Consultant — Illustration Style Selection for Geneva Restaurant**
---
Yandê is a new açaí and tapioca restaurant opening in Geneva. We have done serious strategic work: a full brand diagnostic, brand territory, and brand platform are complete. The brand has genuine cultural and emotional specificity — it is not a generic tropical food concept. The essence is *Living Unexpected*, the territory *Opening Presence*, the archetype *The Fluid Companion*. The palette is anchored in warm cream, sage green, and terracotta.
We are now entering visual identity. The first illustration commission will be a narrative sequence depicting the origin journey of manioc/tapioca — from the moment the root is pulled from the ground to the moment the goma hits the pan. Before any illustration begins, the visual register must be defined: style, line quality, cultural references, and what the work explicitly is not.
This is not a simple brief. The subject matter is rooted in Northeastern Brazilian food culture. The visual traditions around that subject — cordel woodcut print, Brazilian social figuration, Afro-Brazilian craft and material culture — are specific enough that superficial or generic treatment would be a brand failure, not just an aesthetic miss. We need someone who can navigate this with both visual intelligence and cultural seriousness.
We are looking for an art director or brand visual consultant to lead this style selection process in collaboration with the client. You will propose your own process. The output is a defined package — moodboard, style definition document, scene list — that can be handed to any illustrator to execute.
This is a paid, fixed-scope engagement. The illustration commission itself is separate and may go to a different person.

**To apply, send:**
1. How you would approach a visual style selection process for a brand with strong cultural and emotional specificity — food, hospitality, heritage, or similar — where the visual register must carry meaning that generic illustration would flatten. Describe your steps, your deliverables, and how you involve the client in the decision. Be specific: we are evaluating your process, not your enthusiasm.
2. One example of a paid project where you defined or directed a visual style rather than executed it. Name the client or context, describe what made it non-trivial, and explain what the output was.
3. Your proposed budget range and realistic timeline for this type of engagement. We have a reference budget of CHF 400–700. If your work sits above this, tell us why.
