The candidate should know the main process parameters that affect the quality of the resulting product, namely: - Sulfuric acid solution concentration by mass - Temperature of sulfuric acid solution before mixing, °C - Sodium silicate concentration (Na2O+SiO2) by mass - Sodium silicate modulus SiO2/Na2O - Temperature of sodium silicate solution before mixing - Description of the mixing method: continuous or batch - Need for subsequent heating/cooling of the resulting mixture or the resulting gel - pH of the resulting solution - Time of gel formation from the mixture - Gel maturation time and gel maturation conditions (temperature) - Crushing of the gel after maturation (size of pieces) - Gel washing (quality of wash water, relative volume of water, water temperature, washing time) residual amount of sulfate in the gel before drying - Gel drying (rate of temperature rise, drying start temperature, temperature end of drying, drying time) Necessity of crushing the gel after drying Other procedures are necessary to obtain the proper quality of silica gel. The number of consultations and their cost are negotiated separately. Payment for individual consultations. The salary level in the vacancy is indicated approximately.
