Job Description:

We're launching Contraindicated, a medical podcast hosted by physicians, recorded in a 3-camera studio. Each episode is a 50–70 minute conversation between two hosts and a guest. We're batch-producing episodes ahead of launch and need a reliable long-term editor who becomes part of the team — not a one-off gig.

paid trial — your first episode
your first assignment is one full episode, paid at your quoted rates: sync the footage, deliver a synced assembly for our review, execute our marked cuts into a polished multicam edit, then cut short-form vertical clips from that finished edit. The clips run on our social channels before launch, so quality and turnaround both matter from day one. If the trial proves out, this becomes an ongoing role.

what you'll do — full episodes (per episode)

sync 4 sources: three camera feeds (sony zv-e10 ii, 4k 24p) + one external audio track (rode podcaster)
for early episodes: deliver a synced assembly on a single default wide angle to frame.io for our review first. We return a paper edit — a timestamped list of segments to keep and cut. You execute those cuts; you are not making content decisions. This review step phases out once you know our style.
Build the multicam timeline and cut between angles following our style guide
Audio cleanup: noise reduction, leveling, eq, loudness normalized to -16 lufs
basic color match across the three cameras
place a consistent intro music slot and clearly marked ad-break points — same visual + audio cue at each break, every episode (short stinger or 1–2 seconds of marked space), so we can insert episode-specific ads and music ourselves afterward
export full episode (youtube) + audio-only version (podcast feed)
deliver the project file alongside your exports each episode — the project archive belongs to us
deliver via frame.io / Google Drive using our folder structure (Raw / In Progress / Final) and file naming convention

what you'll do — short-form clips (per episode)

cut 3–5 vertical clips (30–90 seconds each) from the finished episode for tiktok/reels/shorts
9:16 vertical reframe with speakers properly framed
burned-in captions, accurate — medical terminology will appear; flag anything you're unsure how to spell
clips must work with zero context: hook in the first 2 seconds, no "earlier in the episode" setups
no music, no trending sounds, no added graphics — we handle music and branding; you deliver clean captioned cuts
for early episodes we'll flag clip-worthy moments in our paper edit; later you select the moments yourself

what you'll receive

a written style guide covering our editing preferences (including what not to cut), developed with you during the early episodes
raw footage delivered via frame.io / Google Drive (~50–80 gb per episode)

requirements

proven multicam podcast experience. Your application must include a link to at least one FULL multicam podcast or interview episode you edited — a highlight reel alone will not be considered.
Proficient in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro — tell us which one you'd use for this show, and your version. Whichever you use, the project file is delivered with every episode.
Tell us how you handle multicam sync when timecode isn't jam-synced (waveform sync, clap, PluralEyes, etc.)
Comfortable with 4K XAVC S footage — describe your proxy workflow and your machine specs
Strong English comprehension (our style guide and paper edits are detailed)
Reliable turnaround: 5 business days per full episode; 2–3 days per clip batch
Stable internet capable of downloading ~50–80 gb per episode

how we work

first episode is a paid trial at your quoted rates
communication via email/frame.Io comments; async-friendly, no fixed hours

how to apply
start your application with the word stethoscope so we know you read this post. Then include:

Your flat rate per 50–70 minute full episode (sync + multicam edit + audio cleanup + exports + project file)
Your flat rate per batch of 3–5 vertical clips with captions
Link to one full multicam podcast episode you edited (state which parts you did)
Link to one vertical short-form clip you've made, if you have one
Which editing software you'd use for this show (Resolve or Premiere), your version, and your machine specs
Your typical turnaround for a 60-minute multicam episode
Two podcasts whose editing you admire, and why — one sentence each

Applications missing items 1–3 or 5–7 will not be reviewed. (Item 4 is a bonus, not required.)
