We are looking for a talented Signage Design Engineer to join our team remotely and produce fabrication-ready shop drawings for architectural and electrical signage projects. You will turn client-approved mockups and sales concepts into detailed drawings that meet industry standards, ul/nec codes, and local permitting requirements.
This is a full-time remote position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm cst/cdt, at $10/hour.
Responsibilities:
Develop shop drawing packages: plan, elevation, section, and detail views.
Translate client mock-ups into fabrication-ready designs.
Provide structural details: steel/aluminum specs, welding details, wind load, footing requirements.
Produce electrical layouts: LED placement, wiring runs, power distribution, breaker/conduit specs.
Prepare exploded diagrams, material schedules, mounting/footing details, and UL label notes.
Coordinate with engineers for stamping on large-scale or city-regulated projects.
Support project managers and fabricators by clarifying design details as needed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sign Designer, Draftsman, or Design Engineer in the signage industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (SolidWorks, CorelCAD, or similar a plus).
Knowledge of signage materials (steel, aluminum, ACM, acrylic, vinyl, LEDs, fasteners).
Familiarity with fabrication and installation methods for channel letters, pylons, and architectural signage.
Understanding of ul standards, nec codes, and local permitting requirements.
Ability to produce complete blueprint packages and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills for remote collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
CorelDRAW (for signage graphics and vinyl layouts)
