Hiring: Long-Form YouTube Editor for DIY Channel (Soul Hugger)

I’m looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented video editor to collaborate with on a long-form DIY YouTube channel called Soul Hugger.
Soul Hugger focuses on thoughtful DIY projects, room transformations, and creative work that tells a story.
The channel is brand new, but I’ve been filming for over a year and have a large library of footage ready to be shaped into strong, story-driven videos.
The primary focus of this role is long-form storytelling. Some videos may be quite long, especially when documenting full room transformations or multi-stage DIY projects.
Shorts will also be created for social media from the long-form content, but long-form YouTube videos are the priority.
Important
This role requires patience, collaboration, and strong organizational skills.
I tend to be meticulous about the details, and we will likely go back and forth on edits as the story develops. If you prefer fast, high-volume editing for short-form content, this probably isn’t the right fit.
I’m looking for someone who enjoys shaping raw footage into meaningful videos rather than simply assembling clips.
Consistency and reliability matter a lot to me. I’m looking for someone who takes pride in producing steady, dependable work.

Note: I currently focus on YouTube, not TikTok.

Compensation
The channel is brand new, so the budget is currently modest.
This role may be especially well suited for a talented, up-and-coming editor who wants to grow alongside a channel and develop their craft over time. I’m open to supporting the right person through things like continuing education, software upgrades, or equipment improvements as the channel grows.
For seasoned professionals, while this is a startup endeavor with a modest initial budget, I do have experience building and monetizing online businesses and YouTube channels. Developing Soul Hugger into a financially sustainable brand is something I’m committed to and confident in, and I’m interested in working with someone who sees the long-term potential in that.
