We are seeking an experienced mechanical or structural FEA engineer to conduct a nonlinear finite element analysis of an electric cable. The project involves simulating the cable's behavior under significant bending loads to understand deformation, stress distribution, and overall bending characteristics. The cable has predefined dimensions and material properties, and the bending will be induced by applying a circular load or displacement at one end. Technical Scope: The selected freelancer will be responsible for: Modeling an electric cable with specified length, diameter, and material properties (linear elastic, with potential for nonlinear material models if recommended). Selecting appropriate element types (beam, cable, or solid) based on expert recommendation. Enabling geometric nonlinearity to accurately capture large deformations. Defining loading and boundary conditions: one end of the cable will be fully fixed, and the other end will experience a circular bending load, ideally implemented as a circular displacement path, or alternatively as a time-dependent circular force. The bending process should be simulated as a gradual, quasi-static event, utilizing incremental loading for robust convergence. Expected Deliverables: A comprehensive FEA model setup, specifying the chosen software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent or another suitable tool). Visualizations of the deformed shape, clearly illustrating the circular bending. Detailed stress distribution plots (e.g., Von Mises stress). Calculated reaction forces and moments at the fixed end. A concise explanation covering key assumptions, element selection rationale, and the methodology for load application. All relevant model files and result plots. i provide a model of solid works also
