🎨 Looking for a Children’s Illustrator for Educational Book on First Periods

Hi! My name is Laura.
I’m looking for a children’s illustrator with a warm, friendly, and cute style to collaborate on my book titled “First Period Guide for Girls.”
This project is meant to support young girls in a positive, approachable, and inclusive way as they experience their first period.

✨ Style Requirements:
The style should be inspired by artists like Coco Wyo, Hikaru Kotz, and similar.
Key visual characteristics:
- Bold, thick outlines.
- Soft, rounded, and friendly shapes.
- Minimal yet expressive details (sticker or doodle style).
- Clean backgrounds — no complex scenes or heavy textures.

Overall look: child-friendly, cute, airy, and positive — not overly detailed or cluttered.

📌 The color palette - Pastel Colors

🖼️ Types of illustrations:
Some images will show simple everyday scenes(for example, a girl in her cozy room drinking tea on her bed, a girl sitting on a toilet, etc.).
Others will be icons or doodle-style elements — like infographics — that will be arranged freely during layout.

⚠️ Important note:
This is a 6 x 9 inch book, but illustrations will NOT be full-page. Each drawing should be an independent element (transparent PNG or similar), so I can place and resize them during the design process.

🧍‍♀️ Diversity is key:
I want all girls to feel represented. Please include:
- A mix of body types (slim, chubby).
- Various hairstyles (long, short, curly, straight, buns, braids).
- Facial features (with and without glasses, freckles, etc.).
- A range of skin tones (Black, white, brown, etc.).

📎 What I’m providing:
- An Excel file with detailed descriptions of each illustration.
- A Word document with visual references of the kind of girls I like.
(Note: those examples include heavily detailed backgrounds, but for this project I want something more simplified.)

💸 Budget & Future Work:
Maximum budget: $800 - $1000 USD

This is a first book, but my goal is to build a larger brand, so I’m looking for someone who can grow with me and help illustrate future projects as well.

⏳ Preparation time and deadlines:

Punctuality is key to the success of this project. It is very important that you can meet the established deadlines, as we need to ensure proper planning for the book. The estimated time for completing all the illustrations will be 15 to 18 days.

🎨 Illustration trial (Conclusion Image):

Before starting the full project, I will create a separate project with a budget of 40 USD. This will be for you to create one of the illustrations I need, which will allow me to assess if the style and quality meet what I’m looking for. If the trial is successful, we would proceed with the full book work.
