Mechanical Engineer for Consumer Product Cad Design

I am seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to transform my early prototype and mixed-fidelity sketches into a professional CAD design for a new consumer product. The project involves taking my conceptual drawings and prototype references and developing them into detailed 3D models and technical specifications suitable for manufacturing.

The ideal freelancer will have strong expertise in mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturability. Deliverables will include:
- Comprehensive 3D CAD models
- Editable native CAD files (not just exports)
- Assembly drawings
- Individual part drawings with precise dimensions and tolerances

Experience with common CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) is essential, and the freelancer must have a valid CAD license for the tools they use. The goal is to create a robust and functional design that is ready for prototyping and production.

Fluency in English is required.

The hiring process includes an introductory video call to assess fit, followed by a 45-minute technical 3D design interview in your preferred CAD software. If we work well together, there's strong potential for ongoing work as the product evolves through future prototypes and refinements.
