Pcb Layout Design and Electrical Sizing Review for Coffee Sorter Prototype

Published on the June 29, 2025 in Engineering & Manufacturing

About this project

Open

We need a freelancer to design the PCB layout and review the electrical sizing and safety of our coffee sorter prototype. The system uses stepper motors, sensor modules, an NIR scanner, and a Raspberry Pi controller.

The freelancer will be responsible for:
    •    Designing the PCB layout with clear routing and power distribution
    •    Integrating a plug-and-play connection system for easy replacement of external components
    •    Ensuring proper grounding, filtering, and protection
    •    Reviewing electrical sizing and safety for the system
    •    Supporting us in reviewing and adjusting the design as the project evolves
    •    Assisting in communication with the PCB manufacturer to ensure quality and manufacturability

We have urgency to finalize the first layout and proceed with manufacturing the initial PCB versions.

Project overview

We are developing an automated coffee sorter prototype using an NIR scanner and motors controlled by a Raspberry Pi. The PCB will centralize power management, signal routing, and connections for all system components to simplify testing and scaling. We need a reliable and practical design to help us move quickly to field testing and iterate as needed.
