We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer for a long-term role to rebuild and expand our national commercial real estate listing platform. The platform is built on WordPress using the WP Residence theme and requires significant customization and new feature development. The role will involve 20-40 hours per week, depending on workload and availability.

Key responsibilities and tasks include:

Customizing WP Residence: Implementing advanced search filters, designing new listing layouts, and integrating map-based search functionality using the Google Maps API.
Custom Post Types and Fields: Developing and managing custom post types, advanced custom fields (ACF), and taxonomies to handle diverse property data.
Member/Broker Dashboards: Creating and enhancing user dashboards with features such as saved searches, property alerts, favorites management, and comprehensive listing management tools.
wp rest api development: building clean, well-structured wp rest api endpoints with a future goal of transitioning towards a headless architecture.
Performance, SEO, and Security: Optimizing platform performance, ensuring strong SEO hygiene (including redirects, indexing, and schema markup), and implementing robust security hardening measures.
Third-Party Integrations: Integrating with various third-party listing feeds to expand data sources.
Subscription Billing and Membership: Implementing subscription billing and membership tiers, including Stripe integration for recurring payments and payment-gated access to dashboard features.
Technical SEO: Managing a domain migration with one-to-one 301 redirects, optimizing XML sitemaps, controlling canonical and indexation, implementing structured data/schema markup for listings and local pages, and improving Core Web Vitals.
SEO-Friendly Architecture: Developing an architecture for programmatic listing pages, enabling the generation of city and property-type landing pages at scale.
