Diseñador(a) Cad Junior (Freelance) — Tráiler catamarán “Amphicamper” (5 h/sem)

Publicado el 09 Agosto, 2025 en Ingeniería y Arquitectura

Sobre este proyecto

Abierto

Quick pitch: Looking for a creative early‑career CAD person who wants a fun, low‑pressure side gig on a crazy concept that we actually intend to build. Low fidelity now, real fabrication later. Solo freelancers in Mexico only—no agencies. What is the Amphicamper? A modular, amphibious RV system made of three pieces: a road‑legal tow vehicle + camper, and an integrated trailer that becomes a boat at the ramp—the trailer’s deck acts as the bridgedeck of a catamaran. This posting is only for the trailer/boat. The camper/vehicle are context so your envelopes make sense. The role & relationship (how we’ll work) Hours: ≤ 5 hrs/week for the next few months. Calls: bi‑weekly 30–45 min check‑ins. Comms: async chat daily as needed (Upwork → WhatsApp after contract starts). Style: slow pace, low‑fidelity outputs, evolving scope; lots of creative problem‑solving. Language: I speak conversational Spanish, but I’m more articulate in English. Either is fine; critical notes can be bilingual. High‑level trailer concept (context only) Road legal: deck fits within 8'6" width. On water: two catamaran hulls translate/extend outward so the trailer deck becomes the bridgedeck, targeting ~13'6" beam. Structure/locking idea: stepped (shear‑key) interfaces with tensioning chains/turnbuckles/pins at intervals to lock pieces together. Launch quirk: axles/wheels live in sliding cassettes; at launch they slide back and tilt up near the stern to clear the water. We’re not asking for production engineering now. We want clear, communicative models that prove the concept and help fabricators quote. If this works, there’s room to ramp into detailed design. What you’ll produce (low‑fidelity, iterative) A rough but clean 3D assembly (parametric where it helps) showing road vs. Water configurations. 2D plan/elevation/sections with principal dimensions and labeled interfaces. A lightweight mass/CG estimate (material library + reasonable assumptions). A short pdf packet for fabricators (views, exploded callouts, simple bom). Neutral files (step/iges) + native. Tools Prefer Onshape (cloud, versioning). Fusion 360 / Inventor / SolidWorks / Rhino are OK—just export neutral formats. Who tends to fit Early‑career mechanical/CAD person who likes weird constraints and building from napkin sketches. Good at communicating what you did and what’s unclear. Solo freelancer in Mexico. No agencies. Compensation & screening Hourly with a weekly cap (≤5 hrs). Optional paid micro‑trial (2–3 hrs): model a small weldment from a sketch; deliver native + step + 1‑page mass/cg. Nda + ip assignment required. You can later show redacted renders with permission. How to apply (short answers are fine) Two relevant models/assemblies (links OK). What parts did you personally do? Your tools (versions) and how you export step/iges. Availability (hours/week, timezone) and your hourly rate. 60–90 sec voice note or Loom: how you’d set up a top‑level assembly that switches between Road and Water configurations cleanly.
