I have over 15 years experience in Logistics, Transport Modeling and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Throughout these years I have participated in more than 50 projects of Logistic & Transport. This experience has been developed in several countries in Latin America, U.S. and Asia.
I was in charge of the creation and management of an area of GIS in the National Ministry of Transportation of Argentina, Ministry of Federal Planning (MINPLAN), which was held in the digitization of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires more than 500,000 arcs, the path of more than 2,500 public transport routes, geocoding addresses more than 100,000 travel and the creation of methodologies for the analysis of public and private transport. I have also done design, processing and supervision of more than 10,000 homes Transport Origin Destination Surveys. I have developed models of urban and interurban transport, models focused only on public transport and private transport. I have taught courses in network models using TransCAD as a strategic modeling tool and Vissim as microsimulation tool.
I have experience in using GPS and GIS technology for mapping data for the creation, use and maintenance of transport databases and in managing and maintaining geographic databases

The following studies were developed using TransCad for strategic demand study and Vissim to applied microsimulation to some of this highways, routes and intersections.

•    São Paulo Highways Concession Program, Brazil
The local government of the State of São Paulo has called for bids for the concession of several highways. Conduction of a traffic study. Project manager for this study and also responsible for all model development and application tasks for this study. Tasks include development of the survey instruments to gather both traffic counts and origin-destination simulation data, development of travel demand models to reflect the behaviour of the travelling population and user’s willingness to pay, and forecasts of traffic and revenue streams over the concession horizon for a number of scenarios. An analysis of level of service and of road capacity was developed and toll plazas were designed.

Implementation of a GIS (Geographic Information System) as basic planning, analysis and representation (maps) tool within the Transport Secretary. This organization has legal and technical responsibility in the area of transport of people and loads at national level. To carry out this task several activities were:

Coordination and supervision of the digitalization of streets, blocks and census radius of the administrative areas of the Metropolitan Region (RMBA), that is Capital Federal and 42 surrounding administrative areas. Also the railway, subway and the respective stations were digitalized. This included approximately 4.200 km2 and 13.5 million people. In total approximately 400.000 arches were digitalized.

Design of a methodology for the digitalization of public buses routes of the Metropolitan Region. 580 routes were digitalized of national lines and 500 community and provincial lines. With this procedure, the digitalization time was reduced in 50%, in relation to what was being done to this time.

Also, dynamic segmentation was implemented for the administration of geographic events in the railway and subway lines of the metropolitan region. An example of the use of this tool was the railway crossings, the railway accidents, the railway station, etc.

Creation of cartography at national and regional level to represent the public passenger transport lines long distance. A similar procedure was done for the Subsecretaría de Transporte Aerocomercial (Air Traffic Authority), to represent the authorized air routes for each national company that operates in the air sector. This implied the creation and management of information layers at national level. Some of them were national routes, provincial routes and community routes, localities, departments, spots, railway stations, etc.

Investigation Project of the Public Transport of Buenos Aires (INTRUPUBA). Installation of GPS and sensors to count people to survey the offer characteristics (routes, stops, speeds, frequencies, etc.). They were installed in the public passenger transport lines (APP) of the three areas (national, provincial and municipal). These sensors were installed in the doors of each bus, so that each time a passenger gets on or off it is reported with its respective geographic location. As a result of this, the routes of each line were obtained and the stops of the passenger transport lines of the metropolitan region, apart of the load diagrams for the different urban transport lines of passengers.

Modeling Projects
Retiro Project Modeling. A transport model was developed for the area of Retiro, this is the second biggest multimodal railway in BA focused on the different projects that were considered for such project that is relocation of railway stations, new commercial centres, new offices and housings.

Modeling for a Study of the Line “A” of Subways. The hypothesis analyzed was the de-investment and the later paralysation of such subway line. The Line A was modeled in its current situation and in a future scenario without such line. Later an analysis was made of the consequences of its progressive de-activation.

Modeling for the extension of the subway network. An analysis was made and an assessment of different extensions to the subway network. More than 20 projects were analyzed and assessed of extensions of the subways.

Modeling of Córdoba Avenue for the implementation of exclusive bus lanes. The APP network was modeled with and without implementation of exclusive lanes to obtain an economic and social assessment of the pros and cons of its implementation.

Argentina: City Government of Buenos Aires. Transit and Transportation Management. Consultant in Logistic, GIS and Transportation
Generally assisting in the management of Mass Transit and transportation in the City of Buenos Aires. Projects included the BRT (Bus Rapid Transport) on Juan B. Justo Avenue, the exclusive lanes on Pueyrredon, Gaona, and Triunvirato Avenues, among others.

Generally Assisting in the development of a method for executing a Transport OD survey in homes.

Argentina: Municipality of Rosario – Strategic Planning Unit of Mobility (UPEM). Transport study of Rosario and Gran Rosario. Transport & GIS Consultant. Databases and Models
The tasks were to collect all the socioeconomic information of land use, transit and transport of the city of Rosario, to model the behaviour of the public transport of such city.
Also a GIS was implemented in the UPEM office in Rosario. A group of people were trained to operate this type of information. An OD opinion poll was processed in 2002 as basic input of a transport model. The OD opinion poll included approximately 9000 houses and more than 25,000 surveyed people. Origins and destinations were geo-codified of the opinion polls. Later a didactic model was developed of the public transport.
