2d Pixel Art Assets Creation for Game (16x16 Tiles & Multi-Tiles) - First Zone

We are seeking a talented and experienced pixel artist to develop a comprehensive set of visual assets for our 2D adventure VTT game.

The project involves creating individual 16x16 pixel tiles and larger "multi-tiles" that will integrate with our custom in-game map editor, used by the Game Master for scenario design.

This project will be the first zone of this world and it should serve as a first of many projects. Specifics about the style and worldbuilding can be given to better align aesthetic with the theme and gameplay as each zone is different from one another.

Project Requirements:

Important!
We have our own map creator built in-game so only tiles are needed. We have 2 different type of tiles:

1. Basic Tiles (16x16):

Terrain variations such as grass, dirt/path, sand, water, and rock.
Transition tiles to ensure smooth blending between different terrains (e.g., Grass-to-dirt, grass-to-sand, etc.).
Decorative objects including small rocks, shrubs, chests, lanterns, flowers, and similar elements.

Multi-Tiles (Larger Assets):

Examples include a large tree (32x32 or 48x48 pixels), a simple house (48x48 pixels), and architectural elements (walls, columns) that can be subdivided into 16x16 cells.
Technical Specifications:

Style: Retro pixel art inspired by classics such as "Zelda: A Link to the Past" or "Secret of Mana," but featuring a mysterious and somewhat lovecraftian aesthetic. Top down perspective but some of the assets can be in different perspective if it suits the overall style. We are open to your ideas if you have something in mind.

Delivery Format: Each tile has to be in a different file with individually named files.

File Requirements: Transparent background, with each cell perfectly aligned in the grid without extra margins.

Additional Requirements:

Prior experience in 2D game projects and asset creation for tile-based environments.
Ability to work with iterative feedback, with at least two rounds of revisions per milestone.
Clear and efficient communication. English or Spanish.

Timeline:

Milestone 1: Initial sketches and style/palette proposal (1 week).
Milestone 2: Delivery of the complete set of tiles and transition pieces (1-2 weeks).
Milestone 3: Development and final adjustments of multi-tiles (1 week).
