Ruby on rails request with cors enabled

Estoy teniendo problemas con el CORS de rails, necesito conectarme mediante Javascript a https://portal.sidiv.registrocivil.cl/usuarios-portal/pages/Documentrequeststatus.xhtml?run=xxxxxxxx-x&type=cedula&serial=xxxxxxxxx
pero al hacer el request mediante var
request = new xmlhttprequest();
request.open('GET', RUT_VERIFICACION_URL, true);
me arroja problemas con el CORS, no necesito diseño, solo la conexión, ya he intentado todo lo que aparece en rack-cors gem
