.Net Developer – Pjm Api Integration for Real-Time Energy Pricing

## Project Overview

We are looking for an experienced .net developer to integrate real-time energy pricing data from the pjm api into an existing netlogic application.

The primary objective is to connect to the pjm api, retrieve the latest 5-minute locational marginal pricing (lmp) data, and store the current value in a variable within the application. Only the most recent value needs to be maintained, replacing the previous value each time new data is received. Historical logging and data storage are not required for this phase.

This project will begin with a standalone implementation in Visual Studio. After successful completion, additional work may be available to integrate the solution into a larger production application.

## Responsibilities

* Review and understand the pjm api documentation.
* Implement API authentication and secure credential handling.
* Retrieve real-time 5-minute LMP pricing data.
* Parse and validate API responses.
* Store the latest LMP value in an application variable.
* Replace the existing value whenever updated data becomes available.
* Implement error handling and connection recovery logic.
* Deliver a working Visual Studio project demonstrating the functionality.

## Required Skills

* Strong experience with C# and .NET development.
* Experience consuming REST APIs.
* Familiarity with json/xml data processing.
* Experience with Visual Studio.
* Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as API keys, OAuth, or token-based authentication.
* Ability to troubleshoot API connectivity and data parsing issues.

## Nice to Have

* Experience with energy market data or utility industry systems.
* Experience with industrial automation platforms or NETLogic environments.
* Knowledge of real-time data processing and monitoring applications.
