LumaRoma, a lighting technology company based in Rome, Italy, is seeking an experienced full-stack developer to optimize and enhance its existing internal web platform. The platform manages products, customers, quotations, stock, and orders, but is currently experiencing performance bottlenecks and data management inefficiencies.
The primary goal of this project is to identify and resolve architectural issues, improve system performance, and implement new features without requiring a complete rebuild. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern web development practices and be adept at working with an existing codebase.
Key areas of focus include:
- Database and query optimization to address slow product searches.
- API cleanup and refactoring for improved efficiency and maintainability.
- Implementation of robust JWT authentication and role-based access control.
- Enhancements to product, stock, customer, and order management modules.
- Development of an audit history feature for tracking changes.
- Creation of a secure and efficient Excel/csv import functionality for supplier price lists and catalogs, ensuring safe updates to existing products and preventing duplicates based on ean codes and manufacturer references.
Preferred Technology Stack:
- Front-end: React + TypeScript
- Back-end:
Node.js + TypeScript, REST APIs
- Database: PostgreSQL
All data handling must be GDPR-conscious. The company operates on Rome time (cet/cest), and clear technical communication will be essential for coordination.
As part of your proposal, please describe your approach to importing 2,000 Excel products when 300 already exist in PostgreSQL without creating duplicates.
