Freelance Product Technical Designer for Premium Dog Accessories Collection Development

We are seeking a freelance Product Designer or Accessories Designer to assist in developing a small collection of premium dog accessories for a new design-led brand. The initial product line includes a dog leash, dog collar, and dog harness. The overall design direction and initial concepts are already established. We need a designer who can translate these ideas into functional, manufacturable products.

Key responsibilities may include:
- Defining dimensions and proportions for each accessory.
- Developing construction and assembly solutions.
- Integrating webbing, rope, textile, and leather components.
- Specifying hardware integration details.
- Designing stitching and reinforcement details.
- Ensuring adjustability, comfort, and ergonomic considerations.
- Creating technical drawings and specifications.
- Providing support during the development of the first prototypes.

Previous experience with pet products is a plus. We are interested in freelancers with a background in designing bags, backpacks, luggage, outdoor gear, sports accessories, harness systems, leather goods, or other sewn products that combine textiles, straps, and hardware. Experience with webbing, buckles, load-bearing components, and products designed to withstand pulling forces will be a significant advantage. The client will provide creative direction, visual references, and initial product concepts. The ideal freelancer will bring the technical product development expertise required to bring these concepts to life as prototypes. This is an initial freelance project with potential for future product development.
