Senior React & Laravel Engineer for Api/Frontend Integration & Stabilization

I am seeking a senior-level React and Laravel engineer to address compatibility gaps and integration friction between our existing React frontend and Laravel backend. The ideal candidate will quickly audit the current system, identify mismatches, and implement clean, reliable fixes across both the ui and api layers. This is an urgent project requiring someone who can take ownership and deliver solutions promptly.

Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing and correcting rest api contracts, focusing on request/response shapes, status codes, pagination/filters, and error formats.
Updating and adding Laravel API resources, transformers, and validation to align with frontend expectations.
Fixing authentication and session handling, including token/JWT/Sanctum implementations, and addressing cors/csrf issues as applicable.
Refactoring or creating shared utilities and helpers to ensure consistent data mapping and error handling throughout the application.
Ensuring backwards compatibility where necessary and avoiding any breaking changes.
Writing or updating API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger preferred) and adding basic tests (PHPUnit/Pest, Postman collections).

Technical expectations:

Strong experience with React, including hooks, state management patterns, data fetching, and TypeScript (if applicable).
Strong experience with Laravel, covering controllers, requests, resources, middleware, queues, and authentication policies.
Clear understanding of API design best practices and production debugging techniques.
Ability to work efficiently and communicate clearly, as this is an urgent project.

This is not an entry-level position. We require a professional who can diagnose issues end-to-end and provide robust, quick fixes. Candidates must be confident working at a high level across both React and Laravel.
