I am a geologist by training, with technical and commercial background. I am bilingual in English/Spanish, and know bits of Portuguese and French. I have a keen eye for detail and experience in writing and translating technical, academic and general documents. Since 2013 I have put those skills at work in a family project, the blog “Labrando un HOGAR”.
Until a couple of years ago, in twelve plus years at the international oil services company Schlumberger, I worked with geoscience software products and related services. At different times during my career there I offered customer service support, provided consulting and training, and worked with marketing and sales.
I related with the majority of Schlumberger’s clients in Venezuela, Trinidad and Suriname, but also had short term assignments in Brazil and Norway.
At my latest role there I was responsible for designing and giving presentations, analyze business scenarios, and make technical project proposals. With that, I provided external and internal clients with quality and opportune information about the company's Geology & Geophysics products and services. For my internal clients, that meant enabling account managers to put on the client’s table technically sound proposals to better address their needs, thus, our teamwork produced sales that allowed my external clients to count with great solutions for their oil exploration and production pains.
Among other specialized software, I worked with Petrel (my main “workhorse” since 2005), Techlog, GeoFrame, Interactive Petrophysics, GeoLog, OpenWorks, FINDER and LogDB. But also, the day-to-day activities at work gave me the opportunity to gain a good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
