Problema de Lock em tabela Mysql Magento

Nós temos uma loja Magento rodando em servidores Amazon que começou a apresentar um erro em finalizações de compras (nem todas):
SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1205 Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction, query was: update `customer_entity` set `entity_type_id` = ?, `attribute_set_id` = ?, `website_id` = ?, `email` = ?, `group_id` = ?, `increment_id` = ?, `store_id` = ?, `created_at` = '2018-10-03 02:08:56', `updated_at` = '2018-10-06 01:41:33', `disable_auto_group_change` = ? where (`entity_id`=10002)
isto está causando uma tremenda lentidão após clicar em finalizar compra e ao criar cadastros novos de clientes. Precisamos de alguém que entenda bem de Magento 1 e MySQL para resolver este bug.
