About the Project:

WOBI is looking for a scriptwriter for a course: “Business Transformation in the Age of AI”.
This is a course that we sell to large and medium companies, for training purposes of their middle and top managers.
The course is structured in 4-5 chapters. Each chapter has a duration between 15 to 18 minutes. As a result, the course will be approximately 90 minutes long.

This is the second course we produce of this kind. The first one, called “Leadership & Uncertainty” proved a huge success but of course we want to continue improving. You can find the first chapter of this first course here.
Also, here’s the script for this first chapter so that you see how we did it.

As you may see, the shape of the course is a mix between a host that narrates and pulls together the ideas of multiple experts on the subject.

In this second course, “Business Transformation in the Age of AI” we want to achieve that the format is even more engaging, light, dynamic and entertaining.

This course will have 5 chapters in the following structure and we have already selected the videos that will be included.
1. AI & Business Strategy: Navigating the AI Revolution
2. AI & Teams: Reimagining Work in the Age of AI
3. AI & Customers: creating new personalized experiences
4. AI & Leadership: making decisions in an uncertain scenario
5. AI & Society: is this just the beginning?

We expect you to write the script for the host that will hold together each chapter and introduce new and exciting concepts besides the ones the experts provide.

We would like for you to send us an example of something you have written of this sort so that we can evaluate it and see if it’s a fit with the style of the course we are aiming to launch.

Welcome to ideas to lead.

We start with the critical skill of leadership.

What are the specific challenges that leaders face in this new business
environment?
And what are the abilities and characteristics needed to succeed?
Let 's find out.

module 1: leadership & uncertainty

ahead of us, we will hear from thought leaders and practitioners from a variety of
different arenas who will provide multiple perspectives of the topic of leading in
uncertain times.
They will guide you to rethink your inner path as a leader, and encourage you to
spark a debate around the strategy and vision of your organization.
Get ready to explore the key factors affecting the new paradigm of leadership and
business as a whole.
This first module will be divided into 5 chapters:

1. Leading with purpose, meaning, & impact
Business has never been more personal: We look at new definitions of
happiness, success and purpose and how new generations are redefining their
relationship to work.
2. Navigating paradox.
Contradictions, hidden or in plain sight, are a given in today’s context. The
challenge is how we tackle them.
3. A smarter framework for leadership.
The traditional idea of leadership is not broken or outdated. But what's
expected from leaders is different.
4. Rethinking the notion of work.
There is a revolution taking place in how individuals organize their work, create
value and measure success. The same goes for organizations. How do leaders
respond?
5. Dealing with Uncertain times

We will look at how paradox, ambiguity, volatility and fragility rule our
decision-making

These are the five topics that will make up this first module. Topics that are
fundamental to today's leadership agenda.
Let’s dive into the first chapter.

chapter 1 starts ]

chapter 1
dealing with uncertain times

let’s begin by putting our topic in context.
In recent years we have seen how improbable and often unforeseen changes can
emerge anywhere and at any time. From new technologies to geopolitics, basic
assumptions in multiple fields are being torn apart.
To help us navigate the challenges of leading through uncertainty, some of the
experts we will be hearing from in this chapter include
Amy Webb, pioneering quantitative futurist and CEO of the Future Today Institute
Lloyd Blankfein, former CEO at Goldman Sachs
Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, former Prime MInister of Portugal and President of the
European Commission
Ground breaking positive psychologist Tal Ben Shahar
Expert on disruptive innovation and professor at INSEAD Nathan Furr
And legendary film director and producer, Francis Ford Coppola

In a context of uncertainty, transformation or chaos are the two alternatives we face.
Our level of anticipation, agility, resilience and preparation will determine which of
the two paths our organizations take.
We asked Amy Webb what it takes to avoid chaos in this context.

WEBB

Uncertainty and risk can’t be avoided. In these times of ongoing change, breaches of
continuity, and abrupt transitions, being an effective leader demands revisiting our
approach to the future.
WEBB

Disruptions therefore bring both opportunities and dangers. So depending on your
perspective, these can be the best or the worst of times. For example, as leading
positive psychologist Tal Ben Shahar recalls, the pandemic took many things away
from us but also offered up many others.
TAL
Now let’s hear how two highly respected and experienced leaders - from very
different arenas - suggest approaching the future from a practical point of view. On
the one hand, José Manuel Durao Barroso, former Prime Minister of Portugal and
President of the European Commission. On the other, Lloyd Blankfein, leader of The
Goldman Sachs Group during the 2008 global crisis.

blankfein

so what are the qualities that leaders require in this context?

fear - specifically fear of the unknown - is a key concept when leading through
uncertainty.
Our natural inclination towards self protection means that in times of crisis and
disruption, we are all reluctant to leave our comfort zone and face the fear of the
unknown.
Experience and research has shown Nathan Furr, professor at INSEAD and expert in
disruptive innovation, that, if we learn to cope with fear, we can even enjoy dealing
with uncertainty.
Innovators are a great example of this.
FURR

So how prepared are we to step across the frontier? We can do some introspection
here and check how we currently face uncertainty and risk.

QUIZ 1_dealing with uncertainty
1. Are we open enough to take a second look at established beliefs?
2. Are we scanning information smartly enough to identify what’s truly relevant
when designing our strategy or in the process of decision making?
3. Are we being misguided by opinions and preconceptions?
4. Are we anticipating the impact of the risk we are taking - not only on our
business but on our people, our customers, our stakeholders?

Let’s close this module with a piece of first-hand advice from the director
responsible for the iconic film The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola.
