I am a native English speaker with a freelancing career as a proofreader and copywriter. I proofread, copy edit and write many kinds of content, such as blog posts, technical articles, website content, CVs and resumes, emails, ebooks, assignments and screenplays or scripts.
I started on my own as soon as I left the corporate world in 2015. Took a huge step into freelancing when I realised my passion for editing and writing, or maybe it was my love for the English language. I love my job. I enjoy proofreading; it's an amazing feeling to find fault when battling with words. With this comes my research skills. I do not stop until I am completely satisfied.
In the past five years, I've worked with many kinds of business clients from various industries and individuals on personal contents. Mostly CVs, resumes, website content and social media business posts. Working remotely from home has given me great experiences and indirectly has taught me to see things differently, something that my corporate jobs did not.
Coming back to writing, everyone has a different style. I'm known for my descriptive writing skill, as well as, clear and concise writing. My greatest strengths are my research, communication and editing skills. Naturally, I have strong attention to detail and have been told that I have an 'Eye of a Hawk'! As much as compliments make me uncomfortable, they motivate me to stay positive and build my confidence.
Whenever I read something, unknowingly I catch grammatical and spelling mistakes, even if it's not for the purpose of editing. When I proofread, I research further to ensure my edits are correct. I have excellent grammar skills and am committed to my work. To date (16th Dec 2020), I have edited and written over 150 materials and worked on 4 short and long-term projects as a freelancer.
I'm proud of my achievements and am very happy that I have, directly and indirectly, helped many people with their business and personal contents. It's been an incredible journey, being an articulate and confident person who relishes challenges.
Apart from writing and editing, since a very young age, I've been attracted to photography. With this unique passion, I've learnt some exciting skills on my own. Usually, nature captures my eyes, e.g. thunderstorm, lightning, clouds, plants and sunsets. I have yet to venture into this chapter, but I do hope it comes along in my freelancing career, someday.
