Roost is modernizing the way multifamily companies manage deposits, refunds, and receivables. We help properties automate financial move-out operations, improve compliance, and create a better resident experience.

We’re looking for a detail-loving, process-driven Accounting Operations Assistant to help us scale our day-to-day transaction processing and reporting. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on accuracy, loves working with numbers, and wants to be part of a fast-growing fintech startup.
What you’ll do 

Support the daily execution of financial operations, including resident refunds, deposit transfers, and payment transactions
Assist with reconciliation of property ledger data with Roost’s data to ensure data accuracy
Help troubleshoot property accounting discrepancies and identify root causes to support engineering
Track pending transactions and follow up on delays or issues
Process return to sender mail and cancellations
Assist with monthly invoicing for properties and internal billing workflows
Maintain clear documentation for internal processes and customer reports
Assist with monthly reporting, account reconciliations, and internal audits
Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product and Engineering to improve workflows and system outputs

What you bring 
3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations - US experience preferred
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, filters, and multi-tab reconciliation
Strong analytical mindset—you enjoy digging into numbers, comparing data across time periods, and spotting discrepancies
Experience troubleshooting ledger imbalances and identifying root causes
Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills with near-native fluency in English, both written and spoken
Bonus: Experience with property accounting and management systems like Yardi, RealPage, or Entrata
Location & schedule
This is a remote role based in Mexico. We operate on U.S. Business hours (Pacific or Central Time preferred) and require strong overlap with the U.S.-Based team for collaboration.
