We are seeking an experienced Pension Actuary (Actuario Previsional) to support U.S.-Based pension and retirement plan consulting projects. The ideal candidate will have strong actuarial expertise in defined benefit (DB) and/or cash balance plans, with solid technical skills and the ability to work independently. This is a remote, flexible, and contract-based opportunity with competitive USD compensation.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the valuation and analysis of U.S. Defined benefit and cash balance pension plans
Perform liability projections, contribution calculations, and funding valuations
Reconcile participant data and build clean actuarial data sets
Review and prepare government filings (e.g., Form 5500 Schedule sb, pbgc filings – optional)
support actuarial modeling related to plan design, risk management, or repurchase liability
work closely with u.S.-Based actuaries to meet project deadlines
Maintain confidentiality and data security standards
Requirements:
Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in pension or retirement actuarial work (preferably with U.S. Plans)
Strong skills in Excel; experience with actuarial software (e.g., ProVal, PTS, or custom spreadsheets) is a plus
Familiarity with U.S. Regulations (erisa, irs, pbgc) is preferred but not required
detail-oriented, analytical, and able to deliver quality work on schedule
proficiency in english (written and spoken)
comfortable working remotely and independently
nice to have:
soa/ea exam progress
familiarity with u.S. Pension filings (Form 5500, Schedule SB)
Experience with ESOPs, retiree medical valuations, or international pension schemes
