about me & why this role exists
i’m an experienced business executive transitioning into entrepreneurship. I’m building ai-powered products (a coaching platform and an hr automation service) and i need to understand how the technology works from the inside — not just as a user, but as someone who can prototype, build, and ship.
I’m not looking for someone to build things for me. I’m looking for someone to build things with me, teaching me as we go.
Think of this less like a freelance gig and more like being a paid technical co-pilot for a motivated founder.

WHAT I need you to teach me
the goal is to go from zero coding experience to being able to independently build and deploy simple ai-powered web applications. Here’s how I see the learning path:

Phase 1 — Foundations (Weeks 1–4)
•    Python fundamentals: variables, functions, loops, working with APIs
•    Setting up a development environment (VS Code, terminal basics, Git)
•    Understanding how ai models work at a practical level (api calls, tokens, prompts)

phase 2 — build something real (weeks 5–12)
•    build and deploy a simple ai-powered tool (e.g., A coaching intake form that generates AI-driven insights)
•    Introduction to web frameworks (Streamlit, Flask, or similar)
•    Connecting frontend to backend; basic deployment (Replit, Vercel, Railway, or similar)

Phase 3 — SaaS Fundamentals (Months 4+)
•    User authentication, databases, and basic SaaS architecture
•    Payment integration (Stripe or similar)
•    Scaling from prototype to a real product users can pay for

The phases above are flexible. What matters most is that we build real things together and I learn by doing, not by watching.

who you are
you are a working developer (mid or senior) who genuinely enjoys explaining how things work. Specifically:

•    You are fluent in both Portuguese and English (we’ll switch between both naturally)
•    You have hands-on experience with Python and at least one web framework
•    You have worked with ai/ml apis (openai, anthropic, hugging face, or similar)
•    you are patient. You explain concepts step by step, not just paste code
•    You are comfortable with live pair-programming (thinking out loud, screen sharing, debugging together)
•    You are based in Latin America (preferred for timezone alignment, but open to others in compatible timezones)

bonus (not required)
experience with no-code/low-code tools (bubble, n8n, make). Experience mentoring or tutoring. Familiarity with Saas architecture or startup product development.

what this is not
to save us both time, here’s what i’m not looking for:

•    not a one-off project. This is an ongoing mentorship relationship.
•    Not “build it for me.” I need to learn by doing, with you guiding me through each step.
•    Not a pre-recorded course. I’ve done plenty of those. I need live, interactive sessions with a real person.
•    Not an agency. I want to work with one consistent person who knows my progress and context.

how to apply
please include the following in your proposal:

1.    A brief introduction — who you are, where you’re based, and your experience level.
2.    Your teaching approach — how would you explain a concept like an API call to someone who’s never coded before?
3.    Your experience with ai/ml tools — which models/apis have you worked with?
4.    Your availability and hourly rate.
5.    A short answer in Portuguese (one paragraph is fine) telling me why you’d enjoy this kind of work.

“The best teachers aren’t the ones who know the most — they’re the ones who remember what it was like not to know.”

If that resonates with you, we’ll work well together.
