Pern Stack Web Application Bug Fix: Data Flow Issue Between Api and Frontend

Published on the January 30, 2026 in IT & Programming

About this project

Open

We are seeking an experienced freelancer to debug a reproducible data flow issue in a small web application built with the PERN stack (PostgreSQL, Express.js, React, Node.js). The core problem lies in how data is fetched and displayed from PostgreSQL, leading to unexpected UI behavior in specific scenarios.

This project is strictly a debugging task. We are not looking for new feature development, a redesign, or extensive refactoring. The primary goal is to identify and resolve the root cause of the existing bug with a minimal and effective fix.

Scope of Work:
- Thoroughly investigate the interaction between the API and the frontend components.
- Pinpoint the exact root cause of the issue, which could stem from backend PostgreSQL queries, API logic, or React state management.
- Implement a precise and minimal fix to resolve the identified bug.
- Verify that the issue is completely resolved and the application behaves as expected.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience with pern or mern stack applications and be proficient in debugging both backend database queries and frontend react state handling. We prefer freelancers who are adept at tackling short, focused tasks efficiently.
