Software Engineer – Backend

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer Contractor to join our remote team. This role involves building scalable services and APIs, with a focus on debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in backend development, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality and performant projects. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks, codebase refactoring, and implementing complex features in large-scale applications. A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts is essential. We offer a flexible schedule, allowing the contractor to pick their own hours and days, including weekends if desired, for approximately 15 hours a week. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills are highly valued, along with strong code review instincts.
