We are looking for an innovative and talented board game designer to create three unique, engaging, and interactive board games for Camp Embark. These games will motivate and inspire staff (ages 16–22), volunteers (ages 14–17), and campers (ages 5–13) while aligning with the camp's mission of fun, learning, and personal growth.
The games must be super fun, interactive, and include milestones, prizes, and scratch-offs to keep players excited and engaged. They should also be adaptable to suit different age groups within each audience.
Project Requirements
1. Game for Camp Staff (Ages 16–22 | 4–12 Players)
Objective: Create a thrilling and addictive board game to motivate camp staff, enhance teamwork, and make their tasks enjoyable.
Key Features:
Incorporate real-life camp scenarios to encourage collaboration and creative problem-solving.
Offer milestone-based prizes and scratch-offs for achieving goals.
Blend competitive and cooperative elements to maintain excitement.
2. Game for Volunteers (Ages 14–17 | 2–10 Players)
Objective: Design a fun and engaging game to build camaraderie among volunteers and enhance their contributions to the camp experience.
Key Features:
Reflect tasks relevant to volunteer roles, rewarding milestones with prizes and scratch-offs.
Emphasize teamwork and recognition of individual and group achievements.
Provide quick rounds and opportunities for all participants to stay engaged.
3. Game for Campers (Ages 5–13 | 12–30 Players)
Objective: Develop an entrepreneurship and financial literacy board game that is educational, interactive, and fun for campers.
Key Features:
Simplify financial and entrepreneurial concepts into age-appropriate gameplay.
Adaptable to multiple age groups: (5–6, 7–8, 9–12, and 12–13).
Include rewards like prizes, milestones, and scratch-offs to motivate players.
Foster both individual learning and teamwork.
Qualifications
Proven experience in board game design, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects.
Strong understanding of gameplay mechanics, player engagement, and storytelling.
Ability to integrate educational objectives into games without sacrificing fun and interaction.
Experience designing games for diverse age groups is essential.
Creativity in incorporating milestone rewards, scratch-offs, and prizes into gameplay.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
Deliverables
Three complete board game designs with detailed rules, prototypes, and artwork concepts.
Clear instructions for implementation tailored to staff, volunteers, and campers of their respective age groups.
One round of revisions based on feedback from the Camp Embark team.
