Backend Developer – API Integrations and Catalog (Node/Python)
Project Description:
We are a tourism group with multiple brands, building an internal platform that consolidates customer service, marketing, and management operations. We are seeking a backend developer for an integration project, with the potential to join the team permanently.
the project (approx. 8 weeks)
- Build data connectors for the platform, adhering to existing architecture and standards: CRM, marketing tools, and advertising platforms.
- Key component: a unified product catalog. Read product details, pricing, and availability from a reservation system via API; maintain a synchronized internal database; and use this database to generate structured data for websites and product catalogs for advertising platforms.
- Document work and submit via pull requests, including code reviews.
what we need
- proven backend experience with typescript/node.js or Python.
- Experience with rest api integrations in a production environment, including oauth authentication, pagination, and rate limiting.
- PostgreSQL and data modeling.
- Reliable scheduled routines: preventing data duplication, implementing retry logic for failures, and maintaining execution logs.
- Git, pull requests, and code review.
- Fluent Portuguese.
bonus qualifications
- proficient use of ai development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with critical review of generated code.
- Integration with Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.
- Experience with reservation systems, tourism, or e-commerce.
- Catalogs for Google or Meta and structured data (Schema.org).
- Docker and cloud environments.
how to apply
in your proposal, please describe an integration project you have deployed to production—including what was integrated, data volume, and your specific role—and provide a link or code sample if possible. And answer in a few lines: how do you ensure that a daily synchronization neither duplicates nor loses records if it fails midway?
Finalists will participate in a 30-minute live technical discussion about a project from their own portfolio. Proposals missing the project or the answer above will not be considered.
