We are seeking an experienced Product Designer, Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Designer to develop a reusable liquid-cooled silicone cap intended for thermal scalp cooling applications. The primary focus of this project is on product development, ensuring manufacturability, and optimizing thermal fluid distribution within the cap. The ideal freelancer will possess strong CAD skills to design the silicone cap with intricate internal fluid channels. The objective is to create an engineering prototype suitable for research and further product development. Please note, this project does not involve medical device regulatory work.
Responsibilities
Design a flexible silicone cap with integrated internal coolant channels.
Develop an optimized internal flow path to achieve uniform liquid distribution throughout the cap.
Design inlet and outlet hose connections.
Create a geometry suitable for silicone manufacturing.
Optimize wall thickness for flexibility and durability.
Reduce flow restriction while maintaining uniform cooling.
Provide CAD files suitable for prototyping and manufacturing.
Support iterative improvements based on prototype testing.

The cap consists of a network of internal coolant channels embedded inside a flexible silicone shell.
The design should:
maximize scalp contact
distribute coolant uniformly
minimize pressure loss
avoid stagnant areas
be comfortable for prolonged use
be reusable hundreds of times
be suitable for future mass production
