Senior Ruby on Rails developer in Latin America

We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer for one of our Clients on a long-term/ full time project (40 hours per week). The applicant should have great communication skills in English and the following skills

-Extensive (5+ years) of experience with Ruby on Rails.
-Extensive JavaScript experience, including knowledge of modern tooling and development techniques (proficiency with React is a plus)
-Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
-Experience designing and building api’s, as well as working with 3rd party api’s
-ability to implement responsive designs and work closely with our designers
-proficiency working with git-based version control
-post-secondary education in engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience
-able to define project epics, stories and tasks in collaboration with the product team and other stakeholders
-able to translate project goals and requirements into technical tasks for the development team
-solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
-excellent written and verbal communication skills
-presentation skills

preferred skills

-proficiency with non-relational databases (specially in-memory key-value stores)
-experience with the complete project software stack (aws/postgres/redis/ruby  on rails/reactjs)
-experience working with shopify or any other e-commerce platform, or experience working with technology integration in a retail commerce setting
-experience working with languages other than ruby and javascript that could bring value to our platform
-experience working on content management systems or parts thereof, e.g.
WYSIWYG editors
-Some knowledge of performance optimization, either at a language or a system level
-Experience in machine learning or other emerging technologies
-Jira/Confluence
