Senior Wordpress/Php Developer for Plugin Review, Stabilization, and Bug Fixing Proyecto Max

We are seeking an experienced WordPress/PHP developer to conduct a comprehensive review, stabilize, and finalize an existing production plugin. This plugin is currently live and used for venue voting, leaderboards, and email marketing. While mostly functional (v2.7.3-stable), it has evolved through multiple iterations and requires a senior developer to perform a thorough technical review and resolve remaining issues.

The plugin is built using PHP 7.4+, WordPress 5.8+, custom database tables, and is compatible with Divi Builder. Key features include a custom voting system, dynamic leaderboard calculations, targeted email campaigns, and a GDPR-compliant unsubscribe flow. Recent optimizations have significantly improved campaign query performance.

Scope of Work:

Investigate and resolve a compatibility conflict with the Jetpack plugin, ensuring neither plugin's functionality is compromised. This involves identifying the root cause, whether it stems from hooks, filters, assets, ajax, rest endpoints, or class/function collisions.
Conduct a detailed security review to confirm the integrity of nonce validation, capability checks, data sanitization, output escaping, prepared SQL statements, rate limiting, and voting protection mechanisms.
Refactor the media handler to replace the current runtime search across four potential file locations with a single, canonical implementation for improved efficiency and maintainability.
Perform a full code audit to uncover hidden bugs, address initialization issues, remove obsolete code, and identify areas for overall maintainability improvements. A previous silent constructor bug highlights the necessity of a meticulous review.
Implement any additional minor fixes or enhancements identified during the comprehensive audit.

We will provide the complete plugin source code, an architecture and version-history document, and are prepared to sign an NDA if required.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in developing custom WordPress plugins, working with custom database schemas, debugging complex plugin conflicts (experience with Jetpack is a significant plus), and demonstrating strong abilities in clearly documenting findings. This project has the potential to lead to ongoing maintenance and future feature development opportunities.
