Artist Photographer for Authentic Rio Portrait Series & Brand Story

GINGU, a new Brazilian-inspired hydration drink, seeks a talented artist photographer to capture the essence of joy, sunshine, movement, and 'leveza' (lightness) in Rio de Janeiro. We are looking for a photographer with a deep understanding of Rio's culture, people, neighborhoods, and unique light to create compelling visual stories.

The project, titled 'Pessoas com Ginga' (People with Lightness), will feature real individuals whose lives embody this spirit. Examples include a street vendor who sings, a grandmother who swims at dawn, or a samba teacher. We aim for diversity in age, body type, skin tone, and neighborhood representation.

Deliverables include:
- Six (6) portrait stories, each comprising 6 to 8 professionally edited photos that narrate a small part of the person's day.
- A short text (60 to 120 words, in Portuguese) for each person, in their own words, reflecting on their experience of living with 'ginga'. This can be written or voice-recorded.
- Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) atmosphere photos of Rio (e.g., Streets, sea, windows, hands, light), captured organically during the portrait sessions.
- Optional: Five (5) to eight (8) short video clips (4K resolution, 24 frames per second) showcasing the same atmospheric elements.
- A signed image and voice release from every individual photographed.

The desired style is authorial, warm, and people-first, utilising natural light and real locations to convey movement. We explicitly want to avoid fashion or stock photography aesthetics, Rio clichés (such as Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana pavement, or Carnival feathers), and any product placement within the photos.

The photographer will retain authorship and receive credit on every post. GINGU will receive a non-exclusive, worldwide, and perpetual license to use the work across social media, web, press, and future marketing campaigns. The project is expected to be delivered within approximately two months. We envision this as the beginning of a potential long-term creative partnership.                             

Requirements
• Lives in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro or within a few hours of it (we don't cover travel)
• A portfolio of authorial portrait or documentary work with real people
• Comfortable approaching strangers and gaining their trust
• Can manage image releases with the people photographed
• Speaks Portuguese (English is a plus, not required)
