About Spotlite
Spotlite uses Earth Observation satellites to monitor critical infrastructure (powerlines, roads, railways, pipelines, and wind farms) at scale. We detect ground motion, vegetation encroachment, and hazard risks before they become failures.
We have customers across Europe and the Americas, and we're growing fast. Our work protects billions of euros of infrastructure and the people who depend on it.
We're a team of ~30, recently raised a €3.5M Seed round, and we're scaling to match the contracts we're winning.

The Role
Our platform needs to scale reliably to deliver large contracts. Data pipelines need to run without babysitting, and infra debt needs to stop accumulating.
You'll work primarily with our Head of Data & R&D and Director of Software Engineering. This is a hands-on, open-ended engagement. You own the infra, not a slice of it.

What You'll Work On
Cloud & Platform Infrastructure
- Own and evolve our Cloud environment: compute, storage, networking, cost optimization
- Harden infra for enterprise onboarding (security, access control, SLAs)
- Scale reliably as contract volume grows
ci/cd & deployments
- build and maintain deployment pipelines on github actions
- reduce manual steps to near zero; make deployments boring
data pipeline infrastructure
- support reliable operation of geospatial processing pipelines: geoserver, postgresql, pygmtsar, google earth engine integrations
- work closely with the data team to ensure pipelines are stable, observable, and reproducible at scale
monitoring & observability
- implement logging, alerting, and uptime monitoring across platform and data layers
- give the team visibility before clients feel the pain
- monitor infrastructure costs continuously and ensure cost efficiency, right-sizing compute resources based on actual usage
infra debt
- audit what exists, prioritize what's broken or fragile, and fix it systematically
- document as you go: runbooks, architecture diagrams, deployment guides

what we're looking for
5+ years in devops or infrastructure engineering, ideally in a data-intensive or geospatial environment
strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (ovh cloud and/or azure a plus; aws/gcp fine)
terraform for infrastructure as code
dagster or equivalent pipeline orchestration experience
postgresql and experience supporting data-heavy backend systems
github actions or equivalent ci/cd
familiarity with geospatial tooling (geoserver, qgis, gee) is a genuine advantage
you communicate clearly, work async, and don't wait to be managed

why work with us
real ownership. You're not clearing a ticket queue
Your work processes satellite data covering millions of km of critical infrastructure globally
Fast-moving team, high standards, low bureaucracy
Fully remote, async-friendly
Competitive day rate, open-ended engagement
