Experienced Staff Accountant for Multifamily Real Estate Company

We are a fast-growing multifamily real estate investment and management company seeking a high-capacity, detail-driven Financial Controller to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, is eager to grow, and wants to help build and scale a high-performing finance department. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the organization’s ongoing expansion across multiple markets. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on bookkeeping experience, understands the complexities of multifamily property accounting, and is confident operating within AppFolio and other real estate accounting platforms. Manage full-cycle accounting, including ap, ar, bank reconciliations, and month-end close. Maintain accurate general ledgers and property-level financials. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and investors. Oversee cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Review property financial performance, rent rolls, and expense allocations. Ensure compliance with lender requirements, tax filings, and audit documentation. Support portfolio growth through onboarding of new properties and system integrations. Collaborate with operations, asset management, and executive leadership. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience. Experience in Multifamily Real Estate required. Proficiency with AppFolio required. Strong understanding of property accounting, GL management, and financial reporting. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple entities.
