My name is Joey Rao, founder of RAO Hairguru (salon based in Ipoh). I’m currently developing a new concept under my tech venture aimirraö, focusing on ai-powered smart mirror solutions for salons and retail haircare.

We’re now planning to build an Android-based app called hairpro-ai, which will be installed in smart mirrors placed inside retail hair product stores across malaysia.

🧠 What the app is for:
The idea is to help walk-in customers who don’t know what hair or scalp products to buy. This app will:

Let them self check-in
Ask lifestyle and daily routine questions
Analyze hair and scalp (camera + logic-based)
Show product recommendations
Provide instructions or short video guides
Let them proceed to pick up their products in-store
Run promos or product ads when idle
⚠️ My concern:
Because each store carries multiple brands, and products are always changing (SKUs, pricing, new launches), I need a way to manage the product list myself — without coming back to the developer every time.

I’m open to options:

A built-in interface/editor where I can update product info
Or link the app to something like Google Sheets or an easy-to-manage dashboard
Also:

What happens if the app freezes or lags — can I restart it easily?
Can you provide a simple way to troubleshoot problems if they happen at store level?

Project overview

I am developing a smart mirror app called hairpro-ai, designed for use in retail haircare stores (e.g. SHINS, Top Secret, Hair Depot) across Malaysia. The purpose of this Android-based app is to help walk-in customers self-analyze their hair and scalp conditions, answer a set of lifestyle questions, and receive automated product recommendations based on their needs. The app will run directly on a touchscreen smart mirror with a built-in camera (Android OS). There will be 6–7 screens in total, including check-in, questionnaire, hair/scalp analysis, style selection, product suggestions, and checkout summary. Educational videos or product how-tos will be included. I need the system to be simple, responsive, and offline-capable. Most importantly, I need a solution where I can easily update the product list, pricing, and SKUs myself — either via a built-in admin, Google Sheets integration, or a lightweight dashboard. This is part of a larger vision under my tech initiative ai·mirraö, focused on smart consultation and ai-powered retail experiences.
