About this project

We are seeking two highly skilled native Spanish speakers to join our team as audio quality reviewers for our language-learning application. The primary responsibility will be to meticulously quality-check audio clips for our Spanish course and re-record any segments that do not sound like natural native Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work exclusively within our proprietary web-based review tool, accessible via Chrome or Safari on desktop browsers.
- Review individual audio items, which include letter sounds with example words, minimal pairs, or single words, presented as one or two short tracks.
- Listen to existing machine-generated audio clips. Approve clips that sound like natural native Spanish with a single click.
- For clips that do not meet the standard, record your own high-quality audio take directly within the browser's built-in editor. The editor will automatically trim the recording, allowing for immediate review, adjustment, and batch submission.
- Collaborate with our team; any clips requiring further refinement will be returned with specific notes for re-evaluation.
Requirements:
- Must be a native Spanish speaker with a neutral Latin American accent (seseo, where 'c' and 'z' are pronounced as 's'). Candidates with strongly regional accents (e.g., Rioplatense, Caribbean, Castilian) are not suitable for this specific course.
- Possess a quiet working environment to ensure pristine audio quality for re-recordings.
- Own and utilize a high-quality microphone (e.g., A good headset or USB microphone). Phone-speaker-quality audio will not be accepted.
- Use headphones during the review process to detect subtle audio nuances.
- Access to a desktop browser (Chrome or Safari) is essential.
Project Scope and Compensation:
- The initial phase will involve reviewing a batch comprising the Spanish letter-sound set, along with a small collection of words and minimal pairs. This will focus on short clips, with re-recordings made as needed.
- Opportunities for ongoing work will be available as we continue to develop and stage additional Spanish content, including more extensive word and sentence recordings.
- Emphasis is placed on careful judgment and quality rather than speed, as every approved or recorded clip undergoes individual review for acceptance.
