About the job
At Porter, we’re looking for a passionate, smart individual looking for his/her first work experience with a startup.

You’ll mainly work on customer support for marketers, but we expect you can quickly move into other activities related to operations, marketing, and sales.

Why you should apply

Porter is one of the top 100 startups in Colombia, according to Forbes.
Porter is backed by Techstars, one of the top startup accelerators worldwide, with a network of mentors from the best companies in the world.
Our product is great: we already have 1,200 paying customers and retention of +95%.
Content marketing is vital for our growth; you will play an important role in our startup.
Work is flexible; it’s remote, but you can come to our office in Manizales Colombia.
It’s well paid; we optimize to have good/happy people, not being cheap.
You will join in a great moment: we’re already making +500K/year. You will help us grow to 1M/ARR, maybe the most challenging and rewarding part of an early-stage startup.
We like outsourcing: we like to delegate time-consuming, repetitive tasks to freelancers so you can focus on tasks that bring more value.
We have a strategy: while the startup world is full of uncertainty and chaos, your job will be specific and consistent.
You’ll have a team: you’ll work with talented people with different backgrounds and experience.
It’s challenging: our competition is international and has millions of dollars in funding or revenue. You will do marketing to marketers, which makes things even harder.
We get marketing: while we could do spam, and short-term tactics, what works for us today is creating high-quality content such as tutorials and templates. Your work will be meaningful. Our team loves marketing.
We invest in education/consultants: We’re open to paying consultants or training to level up our skills.

What you will do

You’ll assist our head of customer support. That includes activities such as:

Providing support through our website chat and video calls.
Writing content and documentation.
Automating work by using tools like Airtable, Zapier, or whatever that saves time.
Closing inbound leads.

How success looks like

In the short term, your work will be measured by saving time to the customer support team, so they can focus on scaling our operations.

In the mid term, you’ll play a fundamental role in the customer support/sales team, managing all the tasks involved there. These tasks directly impact our business outcomes (acquiring, retaining, and expanding customers).

Who you are

We don't care about your title or academic background (if have any).

Hard skills:

Ideally, you have marketing experience: while not required, we will prioritize applicants with a marketing background.
You know English and Spanish: you write and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
Soft skills:

You’re motivated: we know how a good or bad attitude permeates across the team.
You write well: your writing is insightful, engaging, and clear.
You’re a team player: you’ll work with our team a lot.
You learn fast: you’re a self-learner, resourceful individual. You’re ok with software tools and can learn them quickly.
You’re practical: you avoid overcomplicating, know perfectionism is the enemy of execution, and want to find the fastest, most practical way to get a job done. Precisely, you’ll edit some of the videos with your mobile phone—and you’re fine with that.
You like a startup's environment: you can deal with uncertainty, shit happening, the product failing, moving fast, you’re highly independent, don’t overthink, work with limited resources, wear multiple hats, etc.

What you get

A competitive first salary (we’re still discerning what it is, honestly)
Healthcare insurance
Gym bonus
Amazon e-books
Flexible, remote work; we work asynchronously
1:1 English education
Online courses
Ask for other things; we’re open.
About the company

Porter is the Zapier for data reporting.

We build for marketers (particularly, marketing managers) who analyze data but don’t code.

Being the Zapier for data reporting means:

No-code: we automate marketing reporting without never needing a data engineer, data warehouse, or any technical stuff.
Self-service: our product is meant to let users try it and buy by themselves; they take a minute since they meet Porter and start automating reporting.
Product-led: our growth is dependent on the quality of our product and the capacity of our marketing to bring as many users as possible, rather than outbound sales.
We put the data where users need it: instead of building a reporting tool, we let users report their data on the tools they’re already familiar with (Google Data Studio, Google Sheets, Slack, whatever).
Vision and mission

Our vision—the future we’re creating—is to let anyone do what today requires data engineers and analysts; our mission—what we do—is to help teams grow and reach their goals by focusing on their metrics.

Values

We have 4 values: giving first, playing to win, being transparent, and being proactive and urgent.

Being transparent will help us develop psychological safety, the leading factor of highly effective teams; it will also help our communication with our audience so we remove all kinds of jargon and bullshit.
Giving first is doing the right thing before thinking of the business value; giving first doing someone for others without expecting something in return.
Playing to win means you’re agreeing on working hard, pushing yourself, wanting to grow professionally and personally, and always setting higher standards.
Toolset

We use Notion, Slack, Google Data Studio, Grammarly, Jira, Semrush, Surver, Active Campaign—and like 30 tools more.

How to apply

We want to hire as fast as possible, but want to make sure we land the right person.
