Senior Backend Developer for New Initiatives Team (Hourly Engagement)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our New Initiatives team for an ongoing hourly engagement. This role is crucial for building innovative product features, MVPs, and prototypes from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing robust and scalable backend systems and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of MVPs and prototypes for new products and features.
- Architect and design scalable backend systems to support rapid experimentation and future growth.
- Seamlessly integrate various third-party APIs and internal services.
- Ensure all developed solutions adhere to high standards of security, maintainability, and scalability.
- Document backend architecture, technical designs, and critical decisions.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback.

Required Skills:
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP (especially Laravel framework), Node.js, and Python.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with MongoDB and various relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Proven ability to build applications from scratch and design effective APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and modern ci/cd (continuous integration/continuous deployment) practices.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in remote team settings.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements for new product development.
