Shopify Architect / Technical Product Owner (Long-Term)

About the role
we are looking for a shopify architect / technical product owner who can design the technical structure of our multi-market shopify store, advise on best practices, and ensure long-term maintainability of the theme.
This is an ongoing partnership with recurring work.
Your job is not front-end implementation.
Your job is to define the right technical approach and guide development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and review the theme architecture (components, snippets, metafields, section structure)
Define the best technical approach for planned features
Review user stories and challenge unclear or risky logic
Advise on Liquid, Shopify Markets, discounts, performance and reusability
Maintain a clean and scalable theme structure
Provide implementation instructions to developers
Conduct code reviews and assess maintainability

REQUIREMENTS
5+ years Shopify theme architecture experience
Strong Liquid, metafields, theme settings and Shopify Markets knowledge
Able to design reusable components and avoid duplicated logic
Understanding of Shopify discount systems (manual and automatic)
Strong communication skills in English
Ability to work collaboratively with developers and designers
Comfortable working with Figma workflows

NICE-TO-HAVE
Experience developing design systems for Shopify themes
Product Owner or Tech Lead background
Experience with multi-language or multi-market stores
Experience with performance optimisation
