United Estates of America- Price and Brand Research in Building Materials Stores

We are hiring freelancers to conduct in-person field research in building materials stores, plumbing supply stores, hardware stores, finishing materials stores, and similar establishments.

The objective is to collect information about products in the sanitary metals and plumbing items segment, such as faucets, valves, accessories, and similar products.

A list with the 20 main products handled by our company will be provided, but the freelancer must also identify similar products available in the local market, as well as items with strong presence, visibility, or high turnover in the stores visited.

We will provide a standard Excel spreadsheet to be filled in with the collected information.

Freelancer Activities

The professional will be responsible for:

Visiting building materials stores, plumbing supply stores, hardware stores, and finishing materials stores;
Searching for products similar to the items on the provided list;
Also identifying popular products or items with higher turnover in the local market;
Filling in the Excel spreadsheet with the requested data;
Taking photos of the products, packaging, labels, brands, and price tags;
Organizing the photos in an online folder, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or similar;
Including relevant observations about brands, prices, variety, availability, and perception of the local market.

Information to Be Collected

For each product researched, we need:

Product name;
Type/model;
Brand;
Retail price;
Store visited;
Store location;
Photos of the product;
Photos of the packaging and labeling;
Photo of the price tag, when available;
Similar products found;
Most common brands;
Perception of turnover/visibility;
Relevant observations.

Deliverables

At the end of the project, the freelancer must deliver:

Completed Excel spreadsheet;
Online folder with photos organized by store and/or category;
Brief summary with general comments about the products found, main brands, prices, and opportunities observed.

Desired Profile

We are looking for freelancers who:

Live in the city being researched;
Are available for in-person visits;
Have a cellphone with a good camera;
Are organized and detail-oriented;
Are comfortable filling in spreadsheets;
Are able to follow instructions accurately.

Notes

Photos must be taken while respecting each establishment’s rules. If any store does not allow photos, the freelancer must indicate this in the spreadsheet and record the available information in writing.

The product list, spreadsheet, and detailed instructions will be sent after hiring.
