We are seeking a highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to establish and manage our financial systems using Xero. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health, transparency, and compliance of our growing business, particularly in relation to project-based operations across Queensland. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the bookkeeping function, from initial system setup through to ongoing financial management, reporting, and compliance. This includes tracking company-wide financial performance, monitoring project-level costs, ensuring accurate GST reporting, and maintaining clear and organised financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and experienced bookkeeper who enjoys building systems from the ground up and contributing to the long-term success of a company. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for setting up and managing the company’s accounting processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorised. A key focus of this role is project-based financial tracking, allowing the business to understand profitability per job, control costs, and make informed decisions. The role also involves maintaining compliance with Australian tax obligations, including GST tracking and reporting, and ensuring all financial data is organised and accessible through cloud-based systems. In addition, the Bookkeeper will support the management team by providing regular financial reports, insights, and recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
