Implementation Engineer Level 1

Statement of Work (SOW)
Project Title: Fortinet Solutions Implementation Engineer (Freelance)
Client: FW Engineering
Term: Project duration

1. Scope of Work
The Freelancer shall provide technical implementation and support services for Fortinet cybersecurity solutions, including but not limited to:
Deployment & Configuration:
FortiGate firewalls (setup, VPNs, policies).
FortiAnalyzer (log management, analytics).
FortiManager (centralized device management).
Fortinet sd-wan (network optimization, troubleshooting).
Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Fortinet solutions.
Customer Support: Provide direct technical guidance to clients during/after implementation.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of cybersecurity projects.

2. Deliverables
The Freelancer shall deliver:
Fully deployed and documented Fortinet solutions (as per project requirements).
Incident resolution reports with root-cause analysis.
Weekly progress updates and post-project documentation (e.g., Network diagrams, configurations).
Final project handover with client sign-off.

3. Requirements
3.1 Technical Expertise:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience deploying Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, Fortimanager, sd-wan).
Proficiency in firewall policies, Vpns, network segmentation, and sd-wan optimization.
3.2 Certifications (Preferred):
Fortinet certifications (e.g., nse 4, nse 5, or higher).
3.3 Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions.
Proactive problem-solving and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

4. Project Management
Communication: Weekly sync meetings via [Teams/Zoom/Email].
Reporting: Submit biweekly status reports to the Project Manager.

5. Payment Terms
Rate: hourly-based rate 50-70 CAD.
Invoicing: Submit invoices biweekly with detailed timesheets/work logs.
Payment Schedule: Net 15 days from invoice approval.
Taxes: Freelancer is responsible for gst/hst (if applicable) and income tax compliance.
