Institutional Backtesting Engine Development for Automated Fx & Index Trading System

Published on the December 11, 2025 in IT & Programming

About this project

Open

We are seeking a highly skilled developer to build a professional-grade Backtesting Engine. This engine will integrate with our existing automated trading and analysis system, specifically designed for Forex and indices. The primary objective is to create a fully automated, robust, and scalable institutional-grade Backtesting Engine capable of evaluating thousands of scenarios with zero human intervention.

project requirements:

the backtesting engine must:
* run backtests using chart image sets (d1, h4, h1, m30, m15) that are automatically generated.
* Process each set using a strictly defined visual-only institutional prompt (which is already created).
* Evaluate structural Buy Limit / Sell Limit setups only when all predefined conditions are met.
* Record detailed backtest outputs, including: symbol, entry price, sl / tp, win/loss result, capital tracking, and run status.
* Generate a consolidated summary with key performance metrics.
* Send all results to an already developed Dashboard (an integration layer for this exists).
* Maintain a full history of each backtest.
* Be fully automated and scalable.

what is already completed:

* a fully functional dashboard.
* The overall system architecture.
* The institutional visual-only prompt.
* The execution logic.
* The backtesting summary view is already integrated; only the operational engine itself is needed.

DELIVERABLES:

The deliverable is the full operational engine that will:
1. Process chart data day by day.
2. Evaluate structures according to the established rules.
3. Execute simulated trades.
4. Calculate results.
5. Send all outputs to the Dashboard.

ideal developer profile:

we are looking for a developer with:
* proven experience building backtesting engines or similar automation systems.
* Strong command of Python, Node.js, or equivalent technologies.
* A solid understanding of trading systems logic (no chart interpretation is needed, as rules are predefined).
* The ability to design stable and efficient automation workflows.
* Experience integrating modules with existing dashboards and frontends.
